Reich Family Pavilion Selected To Host 2012 Connecticut 6 Classic
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The 2012 Connecticut 6 Classic, an event which features six Division I men's basketball programs, will be played at the Reich Family Pavilion on the campus of the University of Hartford. The announcement was made during the Connecticut 6 Tip-off Breakfast on Tuesday.
Hartford's Chase Family Arena at the Reich Family Pavilion has hosted a number of signature events, including the America East Men's and Women's Basketball Championship. The 3,508-seat arena has been the home of the America East women's championship for nine of the last 10 seasons.
The Connecticut 6 Classic includes Central Connecticut State University, Fairfield University, University of Hartford, Quinnipiac University, Sacred Heart University, and Yale University. The first Classic took place at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport on November 13, 2009. Following the inaugural Classic, the event moved to Mohegan Sun Arena for two seasons including this year's November 11 date.
A schedule for the 2012 event has not been determined. Athletics directors from each of the six institutions will determine the 2012 schedule as well as a host site for the 2013 Connecticut 6 Classic at a later date.
