Alex Zampier Garners Connecticut 6 Player Of The Week Accolades
FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Senior Alex Zampier earned the Connecticut 6 player of the week award after averaging 19 points per game over three contests for Yale University. He becomes the first Bulldog to earn the weekly award.
His best performance came against Colorado State when he scored 31 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the field. It was the second time this season he reached the 30-point plateau. He had 35 in the season opener against Sacred Heart.
Against Albany, playing less than 10 miles from his hometown of East Greenbush, he had 19 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in 32 minutes. He was 6-of-12 from the field and made four three-pointers.
Yale University, under Head Coach James Jones, returns to action this week by heading to Lehigh for a January 5 match up.
